A+ Schools is “Pittsburgh’s Community Alliance for Public Education.” They advocate for educational equity and excellence in the public school system through educating the public, increasing awareness, and engaging the community in efforts to advance change. The Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation mission is “to improve the quality of life for all in Garfield and surrounding neighborhoods through active community engagement.” Together, they will host a meeting on Tuesday, July 25th where A+ will present their “Report to the Community.”

At the meeting, you can gain a better understanding of the educational outcomes relating to the schools that are teaching our children and join in a discussion on what can be done to make improvements.

Topics covered will include:

  • How students in our local schools are performing relative to their peers
  • How magnet and charter schools compare to neighborhood schools
  • Up-to-date discipline, suspension, and academic performance information

Opening remarks will be given by District 3 School Board Member Elect Sala Udin.

To attend, please RSVP by email to Rickf@bloomfield-garfield.org.
