Perry High School, a work in the public domain by Nyttend

One Northside, Northside Narratives, Pittsburgh Perry High School, BMe Community, and Ya Momz House, Inc. are holding a free community event tonight at Alloy 26 in Nova Place. The Northside Narratives program will feature 40 youth-founded project proposals about business ideas that they wish to see or create in Northside Pittsburgh. It’s a science fair-style event with students on hand to discuss why they chose their projects. Projects will receive up to $1,000 to complete their project in their community.

Via press release:

The program has gained the support of Pittsburgh Perry faculty and the backing of its new Principal James Cooper, who believes the experimental learning program has the perfect components needed to help foster creativity, leadership and service within student body. Through the Northside Narratives program, students will also receive engaging mentorship, leadership development training, field trips and exposure to remarkable entrepreneurs and business leaders affiliated with the national and local BMe Community. Students will use their $1K mini-grant to startup new concepts, businesses and services that will help build a more caring and prosperous Northside.

Healthy and delicious refreshments will be provided by Chef Claudy Pierre of Eminent Hospitality.

While the event is free, you need to register here to attend.

Please attend and help to empower and build youth as community servant leaders and entrepreneurs for their community! (Pittsburgh Perry High School alumni are highly encouraged to attend.)
