Donations requested for Pittsburgh school students in advance of start of school year

PITTSBURGH, PA (August 5, 2016) Mayor William Peduto and Councilwoman Theresa Kail-Smith have launched a school supply drive for Pittsburgh students.

Boxes are placed in the lobby of the City-County Building for donations. Suggested supplies include looseleaf paper, pencils, pens, notebooks, backpacks, erasers, markers and crayons.

“I’m happy the Mayor and I are finding a way to show kids across Pittsburgh that the City cares about them, and wants them to be successful in the coming school year,” Councilwoman Kail-Smith said.

The two-week drive will accept donations through Thursday, August 18.
