Soup N’at supports artists in the community one bowl of soup at a time. On Sunday, February 28th, you’re invited to join Union Project and New Sun Rising as they celebrate and support local artists, all while eating delicious bowls of soup prepared by local restaurants. Come out and break bread, enjoy entertainment, and vote for your favorite project to win seed funding from Soup N’at!

Here’s how a Soup N’at dinner works, via Union Project:

Up to five artists are accepted to present the project of their dreams. Guests pay $10 at the door for a voting ballot, and then enjoy local soup and artist presentations. At the end of the night, the soup-eating attendees each cast ballots for their favorite presentation. The artist with the most votes takes home the night’s proceeds and uses the money to pursue their project.

On top of all that, you’ll also have a chance to win a piece of handmade ceramic art, a “Pittsburgh is Art” T-Shirt, and a Public Walking Tour book.

Sponsors for this event include Allegro Hearth Bakery, Penn Brewery, Bar Marco, Sprezzatura, Plated Trade, Hey Beast Studios, Millvale Library, and Pittsburgh Fringe.

For more information, please read the Soup N’at blog, follow Soup N’at on Facebook, and checking out their event page.
