For over 50 years, GlobalPittsburgh has conducted programs that connect Pittsburgh with the world. Their membership activities and hosting programs help universities and English Language programs attract international students. Additionally, they are the U.S. State Department’s designated regional service provider for the International Visitor Leadership Program and other government-sponsored international exchange programs.
GlobalPittsburgh believes in citizen diplomacy. Through their hospitality program, Pittsburghers become GlobalPittsburgh hosts — opening their homes to international visitors to our region. One such opportunity is the chance to host participants for the EducationUSA Leadership Institute program. These are 15 university and government leaders from eight countries (Burma, Egypt, Estonia, Nepal, Panama, Paraguay, The Philippines and Turkey) coming to Pittsburgh for the weekend of March 4th to March 6th. GlobalPittsburgh is inviting families involved in higher education — either faculty or administration — to host these visitors who will be focused on increasing international study opportunities.
