Are you a resident of The Hill District, Homewood, Larimer, Pittsburgh Hilltop, Millvale, or Wilkinsburg? Are you a leader who cares passionately about your community? Do you want to connect with other leaders and help determine how resources will be committed in those neighborhoods? If so, you can still apply for consideration to become a member of Neighborhood Allies’ Community Leadership Forum
until the end of the day, tomorrow, July 31, 2015 EXTENDED THROUGH Friday, August 14th!
Three leaders will be chosen from each of the current focus areas listed above to represent their neighborhood at the forum. Neighborhood leaders must be available to serve for one year, and commit to attending 5 of 6 meetings.
This is a grassroots approach to not only giving residents an opportunity to have their voices heard, but having the power to influence change, gain exposure to community leaders, have access to capital and input on grant allocation, attend professional development workshops, and get experience in community development.
If this sounds like an ideal experience for you, you’ll need to submit the following:
- A one-page statement of purpose focusing on why you are interested in this forum and what you expect to contribute.
- Include your contact information and list any previous experience in community development and past neighborhood involvement.
- List 2-3 unrelated references from your neighborhood.
