PITTSBURGH, PA (July 9, 2015) Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh will hold events today in honor of late Pittsburgh bluesman Chizmo Charles.

At 11 a.m. on the portico of the City-County Building Mayor William Peduto will read a proclamation honoring Mr. Charles, a Lawrenceville native who died April 21 at age 86. Several musicians and family members will give brief remarks.

Following the remarks at approximately 11:30 a.m. Gil Snyder on accordion and Kenny Blake on sax will play “When the Saints Go Marching In” as the crowd does a New Orleans style Second Line parade to the Allegheny County Courthouse courtyard for a free concert.

At noon, with the assistance of Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald’s office, a free concert will be held featuring musicians including:
