The Kiva City program helps small business owners get the financing they need to grow and create jobs. Supporters browse through borrower profiles and find a story that connects with them. Field Partners vet, distribute and administer each loan. When borrowers repay, the money that the lending supporters gave is theirs to keep, or to donate to Kiva, or to lend again to empower someone else. In this way, Pittsburghers can help support other Pittsburghers’ small businesses which helps to create new jobs and backs employers who are likely to hire people of color, women and youth. And, it gives you the opportunity to personally help jump start the local economy!

This Monday, June 1st, you can join Kiva City Pittsburgh as they celebrate the wonderful impact of Kiva Zip within the local community and help current borrowers reach their crowdfunding goals. The event is being held at The Map Room, which will lend a portion of the happy hour specials purchased. The casual setting will allow for mingling and networking between current, past, and potential borrowers, trustees, and supporters.
