BMe Community is a “national network of inspired black men and thousands of other community-builders,of all races and genders who connect to share, inspire, and empower communities.” Each year, BMe presents their leadership awards to 30-50 everyday, adult Black men–fathers, coaches, students, businessmen, etc.–who have shown that they are deeply committed to the well-being of others. Then, they help them in their efforts by giving them funding, networking opportunities, and by sharing their stories with others.

BMe Community has recently launched in Pittsburgh (started in 2011, they’ve been operating in Baltimore, Detroit, and Philadelphia), so now you have the opportunity to nominate someone, or apply yourself for a BMe Leader Award. Ten Black men will receive awards in Pittsburgh, which include a $10,000 grant to each one!

You can help them to help change the negative narrative around Black men and boys by nominating someone you know who makes a difference in their community by clicking here. Or, if you are that person whose authenticity and commitment inspires others, you can apply yourself here.

The nomination process ends on Friday, March 27, 2015. BMe will announce their new leaders in June at an awards event.
