The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is bringing their nationally acclaimed Emerging Leaders Initiative to Pittsburgh. This free program is offered to business executives of companies which are poised for growth in historically challenged communities. The federal training initiative occurs over the course of several months and provides the opportunity for participants to learn targeted development and expansion strategies, including how to access new capital and secure government contracts.

No more than 15 are chosen to participant in the classes which begin in April. Graduates from SBA’s program have created over 2,400 new full-time jobs; secured federal, state, local and tribal contract awards of over $1 Billion; and have accessed over $73 Million in new financing!

The criteria for participation are small business owners and executives that:

• Have annual revenues of at least $400,000
• Have been in business for at least 3 years
• Have at least one employee, other than self
