The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) is the regional planning agency for our area (Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, and Westmoreland counties). The Commission is responsible for planning and prioritizing the use of all state and federal transportation funds allocated to the region. Moreover, the Commission “develops plans and programs for public investments; fulfills federal and state requirements for transportation, economic development, and local government assistance programs; and operates with public involvement and trust.” They are currently updating their long range plan to meet future needs to the year 2040 and they need your input!

They are seeking to find out your priorities on strategies and how you would spend money on transportation in the region. For example: Would you focus on fixing and maintaining what we already have? Would you focus on building onto what we already have? Or would you do both?

Additionally, they want to know which projects are important to you. Here’s your chance to let them know if you have a particular project in mind.

Please take this opportunity to join them in “Mapping the Future” by taking the SPC Investment Priorities Survey.

The survey only takes about five to ten minutes to complete. And when you have finished the survey, you will be able to provide additional feedback if you wish.

They encourage you to take a few minutes to watch the following video and then you can go here for additional information and here to take the survey itself.
