Volunteers sought for public service roles in City government

PITTSBURGH, PA (February 20, 2015) Mayor William Peduto is pleased to announce the opening of several volunteer roles for those interested in serving on a city board, authority or commission.

Openings are available here on the City website for roles on nine different bodies.

They are:

Art Commission

Building Code Board of Appeals

Cable Communications Advisory Committee

Clean Pittsburgh Commission

Commission on City Archives

Disruptive Property Appeals Board

Historic Review Commission

Shade Tree Commission

Water Exoneration Hearing Board

Links for each group describe the volunteer roles and whether city residency or professional certificates are required for the positions.

The City is seeking well-qualified applicants for the roles who reflect the diversity of Pittsburgh as a whole.

Those interested may upload their information and resume to the website, as well as a brief personal statement. The Mayor’s Office will review the applications and choose appointees for each open seat available. Appointees must be confirmed by City Council.
