PITTSBURGH, PA (February 14, 2015) – The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works crews have been treating roadways throughout the city during today’s winter weather event. A forecast for 2″ to 4″ is in effect until Noon on Sunday, February 15.

The Snow Plow Tracker was activated at 6:00 a.m. today and a Level 2 Snow Alert has been issued.

From 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. today 32 trucks were dispatched to treat roads throughout the city. The 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. overnight shift will also have 32 vehicles dispatched. Crews will continue to work 12 hour shifts throughout the weather event. All rock salt loads are treated with calcium chloride due to low temperatures.
