PITTSBURGH, PA (February 10, 2015) – The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works has announced that park shelter reservations will be accepted online and in person starting Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
For the first time in city history, residents and business owners will be able to purchase park shelter permits online. The city will no longer host an annual Permit Day for in person registration, as in past years. In person reservations will still be accepted at the Public Works Permit Office starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17.
The Online Facility Reservations site can be found here. There is also a direct link found on the right side of city’s homepage. Prior to February 17, residents can visit the new registration site, create an online account and view available facilities.
Shelters are available for rent up to 365 days in advance on a rolling basis. All shelter rentals are available on a first come first serve basis. Online shelter rentals must be completed 72 hours before the desired date; during the 72 hour window prior to the desired date, residents must contact the Public Works Permit Office to see if it is still possible to get a permit for the shelter.
