Each spring and fall, Pittsburgh holds a city-wide public safety meeting. These meetings bring together residents and business owners with public safety personnel, elected officials and city departmental staff to meet, network and disseminate important information. Attendees can find out about successful safety strategies, new safety initiatives and receive information about services to residents.

The meeting this week will include an introduction to Cameron McLay, Chief Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. Additionally, there will be a discussion on domestic and child abuse in the City of Pittsburgh. The guest speakers for this topic include Sgt. Eric Kroll, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Joan Mills, Program Manager for A Child’s Place at Mercy.

The 2014 Fall City-wide Public Safety Meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. It will be held at the American Legion Langley Post 496 at 2863 Chartiers Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15204 (Sheraden neighborhood). There is parking behind the building (turn left on Ditzler, then left on Lanpark and the lot will be on your left).

This meeting is being hosted by Zone 1, 3 and 6 Public Safety Councils. Light Refreshments will be served and all are invited to attend.
