PITTSBURGH, PA (Oct. 15, 2014) Mayor William Peduto and his top staff will hear neighborhood concerns and issues Wednesday night in Homewood, in the eighth installment of his “Mayor’s Night Out/Mayor’s Night In” community events.

The session is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy 6–12, at 1101 N Murtland Avenue in Homewood. It is open to the public.

The forum follows seven events by Mayor Peduto and his administrators in which they have personally fielded questions from hundreds of city residents. He has held three “Mayor’s Night Out” forums in Beltzhoover, Perry North and Carrick; two “Mayor’s Night In” events in his City-County Building office; the nation’s first “Mayor’s Night On(line)” via Reddit; and a “Mayor’s Night On(Air)” last week on WESA-FM radio.

Holding the community sessions reflects the Mayor’s efforts to instill transparency and accountability into city government, and follow such moves as making his daily schedule public, hiring top officials through the public Talent City process, creating a Community Affairs team that meets nightly with neighborhood groups, and creating a Bureau of Neighborhood Empowerment to focus strictly on struggling communities.
