Each year Citiparks celebrates the joy of reading with “Alphabet Trail and Tales.” This annual event is free for the whole family and focuses on early and elementary literacy. Children follow the Alphabet Trail from A to Z where the best in children’s books is presented.

Along the way, they will encounter interactive, hand-painted story sets and can enjoy art, music, storytellers, games and other activities. There’s also a puppet parade and face painting. And this year, there will be new performances from the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Opera Theater.

It all takes place in Frick Park this Saturday, September 13 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Each letter of the alphabet offers a new activity and storytellers. You’ll want to come early so you can enjoy the entire route of 26 opportunities for zany fun, as well as to take in the beauty of Frick Park during one of the last weekends of the summer!
