What do you get when you combine the sale of bargain-priced art work, equipment and supplies with the great outdoors? Why a “yART” sale, of course! The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts will hold its annual “yART” Sale on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (rain or shine). The sale will take place at PCA’s tree-lined campus–adjacent to Mellon Park–at the corner of Fifth and Shady in Shadyside. It is free to the public.

Over 70 artists will clean out their studios to give you the opportunity to purchase affordable art and supplies, including: ceramic pieces, photographs, jewelry, art books, fabric, unframed prints, glass pieces, collectibles, paints, brushes, paper, and drawing tables. Prices range from 50 cents to $200 with the proceeds going to PF/PCA programs.

This year’s festivities will also include:

Art Auction/Burn with Kathleen Zimbicki
“Kathleen Zimbicki, who is celebrating her 80th birthday, wanted to give her supporters an opportunity to add one of her pieces to their collections at affordable prices. Works that typically sell for $160 – $1,200 will be priced at $40, $80 and $160 for the one-day yART sale. The work will be on view in the Annex from 10:00am – 4:00pm. There will also be a selection of paintings for $8 that, if not sold, will be burned in the Gordon Raku Pavilion, beginning at 1:00pm.”

Acoustic Performance by Joy Ike
“Also new for this year’s outdoor event is a live performance by Pittsburgh’s own Joy Ike. The singer/songwriter has been compared to Corinne Bailey Rae, Norah Jones and Regina Spektor. She has been named “Best Solo Artist” in Pittsburgh City Paper for four years in a row and has opened for a number of national touring artists. Ms. Ike’s performance begins at 3:00pm in the Gordon Raku Pavilion.”
