The world is getting smaller and Amizade’s The Global Switchboard aims to facilitate that trend. Pittsburgh has dozens of social-profit organizations which work on global/local connections. The Global Switchboard will provide a shared-space, community-oriented, work center for organizations and individuals involved in global engagement.

The center will:

  • Provide an opportunity for like-minded organizations to share resources, advice and to collaborate.
  • Give the City of Pittsburgh a physical location for a global home.
  • Give Pittsburghers access to a network of international speakers and experts, events and programs, and provide exposure to different cultures.

Located in Doughboy Square in Lawrenceville, membership in The Global Switchboard includes:

  • A private desk with storage
  • High speed Internet access
  • Access to conference rooms
  • Access to a classroom
  • HD video conferencing
  • 24 hours per day/365 per year access
  • Free parking
  • Programming for members of the Switchboard to improve nonprofit best practices

There’s also an early-signing discounted rate for those who sublease before May 1st.

Interest in The Global Switchboard is high given their recent successful fundraising campaign–now, they are ready for you to join!
