Friday, August 2nd, will see the first-ever Garfield Night Market. For the next four months, the Garfield Night Market will be a great compliment to Penn Avenue’s Unblurred. The Night Market will include appearances by local performers, colorful street lighting, and sales of local goods. There will also be great food from local Pittsburgh vendors including the Franktuary truck and Fukuda’s Lomito truck as well as Garfield-based Healcrest Urban Farm and Abby’s Sweets and Treats. The Carnegie Libraries and the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater will participate too.

First Fridays in the East End will be even more special now thanks to this community initiative, planned by the Garfield Night Market planning committee with support from cityLAB and the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation. The original idea for the Night Market came out of cityLAB’s 6% Place experiment (6% being the tipping point of creative workers needed in a neighborhood to turn it into an attraction in its own right). It will also serve as a business incubator with experienced vendors sharing best practices with first-time neighborhood vendors.

The Garfield Night Market will take place on North Pacific Avenue between Penn Avenue and Dearborn Street in Garfield from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Come out and support local businesses and enjoy part of what makes Pittsburgh — and Garfield — so special!
