What do 100,000 water balloons have to do with global poverty? When Team Tassy was looking for a way to involve the community in raising funds to help poor families in Haiti, they went with the most joyous event they could come up with because giving should be an act of joy. This will be the second annual Great American Water Balloon Fight in Pittsburgh. Last year, 700 fighters participated–this year, they’ve set a goal of 1,500.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 13 at Highmark Stadium (Station Square) with doors opening at 10:00 AM and the water balloon fight starting at 1:00 PM. There’s a full day of events including musical entertainment, local celebrities, food, and because this is Pittsburgh, even zombies from The Scarehouse.

There are four teams and you get to pick which Team Captain you want to fight under. Choose from Tim from 105.9 The X, Big Bob from 96.1 KISS, Randy from 102.5 WDVE, or Tall Cathy from 96.1 KISS.

Want to join in the fight against global poverty but stay dry? You can still choose a team and watch from the sidelines or even throw balloons from the sidelines–and they can’t hit you back!
