The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) is the regional planning agency serving ten counties in the Pittsburgh area (Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington, and Westmoreland). Its responsibilities include planning and prioritizing the use of all state and federal transportation funds allocated to this region. They direct approximately $33 billion in state and federal funds through 2030.

SPC will be developing their draft 2015-2018 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) over the next 12 months and they want your input. This is your chance to comment on your ideas, problems, issues and opportunities about our transportation system early in the process of the design of this TIP. Once gathered, your comments will be distributed to a wide network of city and county planning partners, PennDOT representatives and others.

They are taking comments on any transportation issue including the following topics:

Highways and Bridges
Public Transit
Bikeways and Pedestrian Facilities
Traffic Signals
Traffic Congestion
Air Quality
Freight Movement
Planning & Financing

But, you only have a few hours left to be among the first to make your issues known. The deadline is 4 p.m. today, May 31.

SPC has a new form that they’re using to solicit your input. Go to now and make your voice heard.
