April 15, 2013, Pittsburgh, PA – On the heels of receiving the endorsement of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, Mayoral candidate Bill Peduto is focusing on education this week.
Peduto launched a web-based initiative called 100 Days/100 Policies to count down toward Election Day in which one policy paper has been released daily. This week, each paper will detail how he intends to be a Mayor who champions public education. The papers can be viewed on http://billpeduto.com.
Topics include: Supporting Neighborhood Schools; Comprehensive Early Childhood Education; Safer Schools, Safer Communities; and Generations Together.
“In the coming week, I will lay out a vision to address six critically important public education issues and reaffirm the unwavering support of the Mayor’s office, under my leadership, to ensuring that our system of public education is the finest in the country,” Peduto says.
Additionally, he will be reading to children at the Western PA School for Blind Children, 201 N. Bellefield Ave., today at 1:30 p.m.
