March 26, 2013, Pittsburgh, PA – Mayoral candidate Bill Peduto will receive the endorsement of the Ironworkers Local Union No. 3 today at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26 at the Ironworkers headquarters, 2201 Liberty Ave., Strip District.

“The Ironworkers are proud to stand with Bill Peduto and support him to be the next mayor of the City of Pittsburgh, As a councilman, Bill has been faithful to the cause of building the middle class and protecting worker’s rights,” says Ironworkers Local Union No. 3 Business Manager Mark E. Thomas.

“We look forward to working with the Ironworkers to build on Pittsburgh’s past while constructing a world-class, 21st century city,” said Peduto. “I am grateful for this endorsement.”

This public endorsement add Ironworkers Local Union No. 3 to a growing list of endorsements including the Fraternal Association of Professional Paramedics, Local 1; the United Steel Workers; Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees; SEIU Local 32BJ, the largest property service workers union in the country; the Laborers’ District Council of Western Pennsylvania, one of the largest labor councils in the United States representing building construction workers; Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald; State Senator Wayne Fontana; State Representative Erin C. Molchany of Mount Washington; City Councilman Bruce Kraus of the South Side; and City Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak of Carrick.
