We’ve been telling you about the TEDx event in Pittsburgh since last spring. If you don’t already have a ticket — it’s too late — they’re booked solid. But, you can still sign up to attend a webcast party!
TEDx programs are local, self-organized events designed to give people access to a “TED-like experience” (where x=independently organized TED event). The TED Conference only provides general guidance for a TEDx program. Speakers are are given 18 minutes or less each to give the talk of their lives. On Saturday, February 23, 2013, (Noon – 5:00 PM) there will be a TEDx event right here in Pittsburgh: TEDxGrandviewAve.
The theme of TEDxGrandviewAve will be how Pittsburgh stands on the “Edge of Innovation.” Speakers will include Paul Burke, Don Charlton, Mayor John K. Fetterman, Erika E. Forbes, Jia Ji, Matthew Keener, M.D., Justin McElhattan, Christine Mondor, Rory Varrato, and Nicki Zevola. There will also be a performance by The Pillow Project.
