For several years my office has worked with entrepreneurs interested in starting a mobile food business to help them navigate the City’s permit process and start rolling. Now that the food truck scene in Pittsburgh has some established favorites and some new trucks that are looking to get out on the streets, we thought it would be the perfect time to take a closer look at the City’s current laws and find some ways to update them to reflect the changing market.

With the help of Tim Tobitsch and Megan Lindsey of Franktuary and Tim Cook of the Saxifrage School, a new group, PGH Mobile Food, was created to educate the public and potential new businesses about current laws and work to make some common sense changes. To roll out (pun intended) our proposed new initiatives, we are holding a food truck rally on Sunday, October 14th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the parking lot of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh located at 5989 Penn Circle South, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15206.

I hope you can join us for some great food and some new ideas!
