“Art on the Walls” is a bi-annual exhibition opportunity for artists in the greater Pittsburgh region. The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council (GPAC) is the business-to-business organization serving the local arts industry with a membership of over 200 organizations and roughly 2,500 individuals. Their walls need to shout the “arts loud and clear.” This provides you with an opportunity to display and sell your work at their “Art on the Walls” exhibition. This year, they’re expanding the display opportunities. Not only will local artists have a chance to exhibit their work at the GPAC Offices Downtown in the Cultural District, but also at the Allegheny Conference on Community Development’s new offices on Stanwix Street. Over $2,500 in work has been sold for exhibiting artists to date.

They are looking for visual artists who work in two dimensional formats (or lightweight, ready-to-hang sculpture/video). The art needs to be appropriate for viewing by the general public. Artists who apply must be from the greater Pittsburgh region (including the counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland).

For more detailed information on the application process and to apply, please click here. The deadline for submissions is August 23, 2012. Artists selected will be notified at the end of August and the art must be ready to install by September.
