Global Solutions Pittsburgh strives to build support in this country for a “21st Century foreign policy built on the values of cooperation, teamwork and burden sharing.” They believe in the ideal of world peace though world law through such institutions as the United Nations. Their slogan is “Inspiring America to Engage the World.” Global Solutions Pittsburgh developed the Pittsburgh Human Rights Network and has participated with the Pittsburgh Darfur Emergency Coalition. Additionally, they offer programs for both teachers and students.

On June 14th, Global Solutions Pittsburgh will hold their 63rd Annual Spring Fundraiser at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts where they will celebrate their shared vision and desire to build a more peaceful, equitable and just world. Councilman Bill Peduto will read a Proclamation at this event. From their latest newsletter:

The Fundraiser will include access to the galleries and exhibits at the Center for the Arts. Light refreshments will be provided, as well as a cash bar. Local musicians, Velvet Heat, will provide live jazz throughout the evening. Also, it is my pleasure to announce that one of our long-time supporters, Dr. Jerry Clack, has pledged to match, dollar for dollar, every contribution made at the Fundraiser. Right now the match is for up to $2,500, but with your help and support, I’d love the opportunity to see if I can talk him into a bigger number! Your contribution will help us continue to offer our valuable programs free of charge to local students and community members, advancing global education across Western Pennsylvania.

You can R.S.V.P./purchase tickets online here. You can also register by phone by calling them at 412-471-7852 and pay at the door. Tickets are $20.00.
