While it was reported earlier this month that our region’s unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest it’s been in nearly three years, if you are one of the 6.7 percent who are unemployed (or if you’re underemployed), you still need help! On May 2, 2012, there will be a huge job fair in the City of Pittsburgh. The job fair is being hosted by the Eastside Neighborhood Employment Center, Lawrenceville United, PA Wants to Work, Neighborhood Learning Alliance, and PittsburghCONNECTS. It is supported by BNY Mellon, the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development and the City of Pittsburgh.
There will be over 50 employers at the fair, as well as representatives from training and apprenticeship programs. Industries represented will include banking, retail, healthcare, social services, food service, labor and many others. There will be immediate job openings available. For more information, please see the event flier here.
And, for those of you looking for work in the non-profit community, Dewey & Kaye is a great resource for all job levels.
