Over the weekend, Councilman Bill Peduto helped in the fight against hunger as he worked as a celebrity soup-server at the 14th Annual Empty Bowls Dinner.  Since it began, this dinner has raised over $295,000 to fight hunger in our local communities.

A large crowd came out to fill their bowls with soup, and help The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and Just Harvest.

Guests chose from over 1,000 decorated ceramic bowls, and ate a meal of bread and soup while reflecting on the impact that hunger has upon the community.  Several bowls that were autographed by celebrities, including Sidney Crosby from the Pittsburgh Penguins and actress Tina Fey, were auctioned off.
